Death threat journalist speaks out

events |
: For years, Marielos Monzσn has faced death threats, break ins and intimidation in an effort to stop her reporting on human rights issues such as ‘disappearances', the truth commissions, violence against women, and demonstrations by farmers, indigenous communities and teachers opposed to the Central America Free Trade Agreement. Now hear her speak...

Her campaigning via the daily Prensa Libre newspaper and Radio Universidad has been exceptional. Unfortunately, her case is not. Many others in Guatemala who report on - or support—protectors of civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights are also subject to harassment and intimidation.

Come and hear a story of courage, of Marielos Monzσn and other reporters and human rights defenders on the front line in Guatemala.
