Research, is organising a public meeting on the government's proposal for an Entitlement (identity) Card for the afternoon of Wednesday December 11th, between 2.00 and 4.30. The venue will be the Old Theatre of the London School of Economics, and the LSE's Information Systems Department will be hosting the event.

The consultation period ends in January and many questions need to be resolved before the government shuts the door on public input. This will be the only public meeting during the consultation exercise. Lord Falconer, Minister of State for the Home Office, has agreed to speak. The head of the Entitlement Card Unit will also be in attendance.
