Commenting, VLV Chairman, Jocelyn Hay, said: ‘The Government published its Green Paper on the Future of the BBC on 2nd March. The public consultation which ends on 31st May will provide the last opportunity for anyone outside Government to influence the future of the BBC. VLV is therefore organising a series of seminars around the country to raise awareness of the vital role that the BBC and public service broadcasting play in British life and democracy, and of the threats to the quality of radio and television that now exist. We want to encourage as many people as possible to respond to the Green Paper and to reflect their views in VLV ’s own response.\" The seminar is being organised by Voice of the Listener & Viewer (VLV ) with support from Charter 88 and the Andrew Wainwright Social Reform Trust.
